Welcome to the Pram Museum’s Blog! We are dedicated to preserving the history of perambulators, strollers, and other intriguing wheeled conveyances. This blog is a companion piece to The Pram Museum, a virtual museum that is accessible from the links list to the right of this page. For the time being, our collection is viewable only on the Internet. One day, though, The Pram Museum will be a destination for the discriminating terrestrial traveler.
Our collection includes over 80 quirky and interesting prams, strollers and carriages from North America and Europe. Not all are posted to our site yet, but representative selections are viewable in our galleries. As they are photographed for the web we will be adding the new portraits (and updating the old) as images become available.
Most of the Pram Museum’s carriages are made in the USA, where carriage-making developed differently than in Great Britain. Although US-built carriages never quite developed to the level of elegance of the British coach-built prams, some of these buggies demonstrate an approach that is interesting in other ways, and, we feel, are worth noting for their own merits.
If you have a quirky model you might like to donate, please let us know! Our space is limited, but we welcome enquiries, especially if you have a beloved old carriage that is unable to find a home otherwise. Please contact us at curator [at] prammuseum.com for further information.
